Preciosa Project -With the Fragrance of Lavender. Seed Bead Lavender Sprays

PRECIOSA ORNELA presents another member in the family of traditional Czech beads and seed beads, the PRECIOSA Solo™ pressed bead. The similarity of PRECIOSA Twin™ seed beads and PRECIOSA Solo™ beads with lavender flowers make them highly suitable for creating seed bead lavender sprays.

If you have not yet had the opportunity to try out the possibilities offered by this oval one-hole pressed bead, here is a very simple tutorial for the creation of a popular lavender decoration. The similarity of the PRECIOSA Twin™ seed beads and the PRECIOSA Solo™ beads with lavender flowers make them highly suitable for creating seed bead lavender sprays.

This design can also then be easily used in other colour combinations. The wide range of color finishes, especially in opaque finishes, will enable you to unleash your creativity and to create your own colour combinations. We wish you many creative ideas when working with the new one-hole PRECIOSA Solo™ seed bead, as well as with other types of Czech seed beads :o).

Welcome to our world of infinite possibilities!

TOOLS and MATERIALS:

PRECIOSA Twin™ ; 2.5 x 5 mm; violet color GBR2H/03123 (50 per spray)
PRECIOSA Solo ™; 2.5 x 5 mm (50 per spray)
PRECIOSA rocailles GBR8L, size 8/0 green hues (100 per spray)
a straight 0.8 mm silver wire, a strong ribbon or soutache, a thin sewing needle, scissors, needle nose pliers, snipping pliers, flat nose pliers (to flatten the ends of the line), a 0.20 mm nylon line, glue for non-absorbent surfaces

 PROCEDURE:

In order to ensure that the lavender sprays look natural, alternate the numbers of beads or seed beads and proceed in the same way with the numbers of rocailles which are strung onto the wire between the individual flowers.

Step 1:

Create the individual lavender flowers. String 4 – 6 Solo or Twins. Pass the line through the beads or seed beads which have already been strung onto the line once again, tighten them into a circle and tie off the ends of the line with two knots. Pull the ends of the line into the surrounding holes and cut them off.

Step 2:

Detach about 22 cm from the wire. Create a loop at one end using the needle nose pliers. String the first flower onto the wire and then string 1–6 x green Rocailles. String a total of 10 seed bead flowers onto the wire with a rocaille in between each one. String a green rocaille onto the remainder of the wire and create a stem which is about 11 – 13 cm long.

Step 3:

Glue the final R onto the wire in order to strengthen the entire seed bead stringing. Shorten the remainder of the wire with the snipping pliers as needed.

Step 4:

Before completely closing the loop at the top of the spray, you can thread on a ribbon or a cord and tie a bow. Cut both ends of the ribbon diagonally. Seal the cut ends.
